Hello again. First, an article about Make-A-Wish kids being treated to the Super Bowl last weekend. The first article is about Colts punter Hunter Smith, a Christian, and his Christian music group Connersvine, which is a duo along with Chris Wilson. They released their first album last month. Here's a quote from Smith about where the group's name comes from, which I thought was interesting (I double-checked, and the group's name is misspelled in the article):

The duo's unusual name was inspired by a friend at church who gave them some fresh tomatoes, grown by his son Connor, thus coming from Connor's vine.

Colts' Frazier

Not much today, just one article. The article is about Leslie Frazier, who played on the 1985 Bears Super Bowl champion team and is now a coach with the Colts. A couple of things from the article: After his playing career was over, he became the football coach at Trinity College in Deerfield, IL, a Christian college. And here's a quote:

...In 2003, he became the Cincinnati Bengals' defensive coordinator.

Frazier struggled and was fired after two seasons, something he called "traumatic." Frazier noted that the team was 2-14 before he arrived and that he never had a chance to build a defense with his own players.

Colts coach Tony Dungy provided support and then a job.

"He called me every day, first thing in the morning," Frazier recalled. "He said, 'How are you doing? Let's pray together. Are you in the Bible, in the Word?' "

Last year, in Frazier's first season as defensive backs coach for the Colts, the secondary had more interceptions than touchdown passes allowed.

Before this season, the Colts added to Frazier's title, making him special assistant to the head coach and defensive backs coach. It's only a title, but he said it helps smooth the path to a head-coaching job.

Hi. First, my Colts won! After it was over it was almost more relief and satisfaction than excitement for me.

The victory parade is today at 6:00, on one of the coldest days of the year here in Indiana. Right now it's 12 degrees with a windchill below zero.

A somewhat crazy note: most of the schools in central, southcentral, and northcentral Indiana had a two-hour delay today, which were announced yesterday. The official reason was because of the cold weather, which it was one degree when they went to school at 10:00. The unofficial reason was so all of the kids could stay up later and watch the Colts in the Super Bowl last night. There are some schools that are already calling a two-hour delay for tomorrow, so today's delay was probably fairly legitimate.

First, a good article about Alabama basketball player Jermareo Davidson and the struggle that he's had following the death of his brother and girlfriend within a few weeks of each other. I think that I sent an article about him before, but this is a new one from this week's Sports Illustrated. Here's a quote:
